I'm a music education expert, author, composer and performer based in the UK.

As an education expert I am a teacher and consultant with nearly 30 years' experience in leading UK schools as a Director of Music and Senior Leader, a classical, jazz and diplomas examiner and an examiner trainer for ABRSM, an examiner for A Level Music, a private GCSE and A Level Music, piano, composition and theory tutor, a presenter and course-leader and an author of educational resources, including Discovering Music Theory, Music Teacher magazine and books for Rhinegold Education.

As a performer I play piano and keyboards in pop, jazz and classical styles and regularly appear on stage with leading UK bands and artists as well as working in musical theatre and as an accompanist and soloist. I have conducted much of the major choral and orchestral repertoire, appearing on the podium at venues including The National Cathedral in Washington, St Peter's Basilica in Rome, St Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna and St Paul's Cathedral and the Barbican in London. I have been Musical Director on numerous shows such as Les Miserables, West Side Story, The Producers and Sweeney Todd. I'm also an experienced church organist.

As a composer, songwriter and arranger I have written songs that have charted for artists in Europe and Asia, and compositions that have been used worldwide for TV shows and commercials, including BBC, ITV, Sky and BT Sport in the UK.
